Galician producers and renowned personalities of independent cinema
held, on Friday, June 7, in A Coruña a meeting
with the aim of promoting this type of film made in Galicia at the international level. The meeting promoted by the Galician Audiovisual Cluster took place within the framework of the tenth edition of the Mostra de Cinema Periférico (S8), held from May 31 to June 9 in the herculine city.
This meeting is part of the Inverse Business mission of independent cinema, organized by the Cluster within the Galicia Exporta Intermediate Organisms Program, with the financial support of the Igape, Xunta de Galicia and UE, and served to put Galician audiovisual companies in contact as Milana Bonita or Laesponja with the business delegation invited.
The members of the delegation that participated in the meeting were Erwin van't Hart (The Netherlands), programmer of the IFFR Rotterdam International Film Festival and member of the film distribution center Filmbank; Naomi Uman (Mexico), member of the LEC Center for film dissemination, production and education; Bill Brand (New York), founder of BB Optics company specializing in post-production and distribution formats; Federico Windhausen (Argentina), academic and film researcher, and programmer at international festivals such as the TIFF Toronto, the BFI London Film Festival or Oberhausen in Germany; Sanja Gbrin (Zagreb), member of 25 FPS, platform to promote the internationalization, production and promotion of European Cinema. Also participated Rocío Mesa, who runs the sample L.A. OLA, Spanish Contemporary Cinema Showcase and in recent years she was in charge of the video department of the International Documentary Association and worked in the postproduction department of the New York Film Academy in Los Angeles, as well as being the founder of the audiovisual production company MY DEER Films .
On the other hand, within the programming of the (S8), both the Cluster and its partners also had the opportunity to participate in the networking event held on Saturday 8, with the presence of filmmakers and top-level artists.
