Twelve Galician producers and Axencia Galega das Industrias Culturais (Agadic) formed part of the commercial delegation that participated in the European Film Market (EFM) in Berlin, the international reference fair that took place in parallel to the Berlinale from the 9th to the February 17th. Under the brand "Films from Galicia", which in 2017 premieres the image, the Agadic started the foreign promotion of feature films this year.
The Galician business delegation that attended this prestigious event was made up of representatives from producers Abano Producións, CTV, Cuarta Parede Films, Frida Films, Gaita Filmes, Ladybug Films, Matriuska Producciones, Númax Distribución, Ollo Vivo, Portocabo, Vaca Films and ZeitunFilms.
The Galician companies counted on the EFM with their own space for the development of work meetings and the diffusion of their productions in the official pavilion Cinema from Spain, promoted by the ICEX Spain Exportation and Investments, together with the ICAA. From this space, the new 2017 edition of the promotional video and the catalog "Films from Galicia" were distributed among accredited professionals, offering information on 70 film and television titles in the distribution, production or pre-production phase, as well as promoting Galicia As a shooting scenario with great natural and patrimonial potential. In addition to the new edition of the catalog "Shorts from Galicia", dedicated specifically to promote the short films and that includes information and professional access to the visualization of the six works selected in 2017.
EFM is the second film market in the world after the Marché du Film de Cannes, for the purchase, sale, financing, distribution and coproduction of cinematographic contents, associated with the programming of the Berlinale as the business center for professionals attending the Famous film festival. Each year it hosts more than 400 exhibitors (mostly producers, distributors and official bodies) from about 50 countries, as well as more than 1,300 buyers from all over the world.
